Jorge started compete in wrestling at St. Brendan High School and then began training in karate and mixed martial arts.
Masvidal made his professionall debut in 2003 and has competed for Bellator, Strikeforce, Shark Fights, World Victory Road, and now UFC.
He has been very successful and is very well known since he started to compete professionally.
In 2020, Masvidal launched a mezcal brand, El Recuerdo de Oaxaca Joven, through a partnership with Recuerdo Mezcal and in 2021, Masvidal launched a bare-knuckle MMA promotion, Gamebred Fighting Championship.
Masvidal and his ex-wife have three children together, two daughters and one son. Other than that he doesn't share a lot about his family life.
