Description

My life story has always been reliant on betting on myself. My early adolescence was characterized by being in a sheltered low-income household, with immigrant parents scared to live outside of the confines of survival. We took to ourselves, were told to focus on our schooling, and mainly lived life in our heads/imaginations. I was a little girl struggling to see myself outside of my circumstances and felt a profound feeling of otherness when surrounded by my peers. My siblings and I's athletics talents weren't discovered until middle school when we finally broke out and experimented, mainly with wrestling and track. I experienced empowerment through sports for the first time and was thriving in both academics and athletics. Fast forward to high school I made  3 state appearances, placing 5th in the state my sophomore year for wrestling, broke my school shot put record, and got nominated for Athlete of the Year by my district for being a decorated athlete.  Being an athlete has brought me so much abundance and opportunity to access, heal, and develop a lot of parts of myself.  It helped me solidify my understanding of the impact of empowerment, which supplements and guides my work around advocacy and representation of youth in the education space when it comes to mental health, systematic inequalities, and neurodivergence. Despite going through periods of hopelessness and financial struggles, I've learned to take shots anyway and I've learned to do it scared and uncertain. My endeavors in Volleyball despite starting it my sophomore year, it remain one of the biggest examples of how I took a shot at and reached an incredible level skill-wise and already looking to play it in college. However, club tuition is a barrier. But I'm not going to let it be, i working actively to lower tuition costs by any means, and getting a sponsorship would mean the world to me. I'm looking for someone willing to get to know me more and bet on me as well.
