Description
Amber is an international swimmer based in Sheffield, England. Last season (2021-22) she became 3 x British Champion and one multiple medals on the senior international stage - 5 km and 7.5 km at Ria del Navia and bronze at Mare Nostrum (1500m freestyle).
She has represented GBR on three occasions including winning a European Junior Silver medal. She has won various national medal and titles and also swims for Munich on occasion after being recruited in 2020.
Amber uses her sporting platform to try and create positive change. In 2021, she created a not-for-profit organisation, Athlete Interactions, focusing on decreasing stigma and increasing support for athletes with their mental health. She is also a champion of girls and women in sport, having volunteered at multiple This Girl Can events including writing articles and speaking on panels. Other voluntary work includes volunteering for Kyniska Advocacy and working on a project tackling education around the menstrual cycle, eating disorders and sporting dropout amongst teenage girls (the three are closely linked). I have written a guest article along with Kate Seary for Athletic Weekly (readership 1 million+).
