Base It We're Gay

Base It We're Gay is a team of LGBT+ players in Columbus, OH that got its start in the Stonewall Kickball league for LGBT players.  Our team name is a subtle nod towards the fact that we're more than just a group of queer athletes; we're a formidable team regardless of orientation or gender identity. After having an undefeated record our first season and winning the league tournament, we signed up to play in the city co-ed league to see how our level of gameplay ranked against the best Columbus has to offer. We ended up winning the city tournament as well, and we've now found ourselves in possession of three first place trophies and an undefeated record of 32-0 over the past two years. 

We have a great time playing together as a team, but we also recognize the opportunity we have to give back to the community. We routinely volunteer at the Kaleidoscope Youth Center, an organization dedicated to serving and supporting queer youth.

To push our skill to the next level, we have committed to competing in our first national tournament in Cleveland, OH in July. Stacked up against 50+ other teams from 24 cities across the U.S., our sights are set on bringing the first place trophy back to Columbus. To make this event accessible to all of our players, we are seeking funding to help cover travel fees.

As a sponsor, you should consider funding our team if you support LGBT+ athletes that have a strong track record of playing well together, giving back to the community, and/or simply love the sport of kickball. As an incentive for your support, we will have a banner made to showcase your support that will be visible to visitors during our games, as well as included in team photos.
