Description
I am the current individual Belgian champion epee u20. Also in the team competition I have four national u 20 titles and a silver medal in the senior team competition. This season 2019-2020 is my first senior season. I will do a lot of national and mostly international competitions. My main goal this year is to fence a really good result at the European championships u23 and to make the national senior team. I combine all this with my fulltime studies. I study economics at the university of Ghent. So I try to have a sound mind in a sound body.
Key figures for sponsors
- Belgian competitions average a 100 competitors for male epee, plus the fencers from the all the other competitions (women epee, saber, floret, youth tournaments). Most of these fencers also take their family or fans.
- In France or Germany competitions go up to ~300 fencers. The FIE satelites (worldwide) most of the time have 100-200 competitors from all over the world. Last there are the world cups and grand prix, they more competitors then the satelites, also from all over the world. They also have the most publicity and fans.
- My results are mostly described in articles posted on the facebook pages of my club, and other fencing clubs. The good results also get published in local newspapers and sometimes national newspapers. Some tournaments are televised on the local television (depends on the country), or on youtube.
