Description

Nicknamed “maniac” on account of his productive and energetic on-field play, Darius Leonard is an outsider linebacker from Nichols, South Carolina. Leonard was one of nine children to a single mother. He played college football for the South Carolina State Bulldogs and would be selected 36th overall in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts. In his rookie season, he played and started in fifteen games and led the league in solo and combined tackles, awarding him the NFL Defensive Rookie of the year Award. He would maintain this high output in the 2019 and 2020, even as he missed parts of both seasons. Subsequently, he was named a pro bowler for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. One of his older brothers is the former NFL player, Anthony Waters.

In November 2017, Leonard proposed to his girlfriend Kayla and they had a baby girl Mia Leonard in March 2019.
