Dominick Cruz was born in Arizona, United States. He and his younger sibling were raised by his mother in Tucson. He still is very close to his mother. He started wrestling in seventh grade and competed all through high school. Prior to becoming a full-time fighter, he worked as a client assistance representative and studied to be a firefighter in junior college.

Nicknamed “The Dominator,” Dominick Cruz has been professionally competing in MMA since 2005. He is classified as a bantamweight fighter and is competing with the UFC. Cruz has earned a 23-3-0 record and has achieved many accolades during his career. Cruz is a two-time UFC Bantamweight Champion and was also the final bantamweight titleholder of WEC. As of September 2021, he is #10 in the UFC bantamweight rankings.
