FROM CAPE TOWN TO THE WORLD: Help our Netball Captain represent South Africa! 🇿🇦✈️
Our community has a rising star, and she has been called up to take on the world! 🌟
Meet 12-year-old Lee-Haygen Thomas. She’s a Grade 7 learner at Heathfield Primary School and the proud Captain of her school netball team. Over the past two years, Lee-Haygen has shown incredible dedication to the sport, proving her versatility by mastering multiple positions on the court.
Currently, she is excelling as Goal Attack (GA)—and it was in this position that her exceptional talent caught the eyes of scouts at the recent Reddam Constantia STAGS Fest. The exciting result? She has been officially selected for the Travel and Sport Invitational U/13 Netball Team to tour England this coming November! 🏆
This isn't just a school trip; Lee-Haygen is stepping up to represent South Africa against international competition in a country ranked 4th in the World Netball Rankings. It’s a massive first step toward her ultimate dream of becoming a professional netball player.
The Challenge: As a family, we are doing everything in our power to back my daughter's dreams. However, sending a young athlete abroad comes with significant costs—including the base tour package, travel insurance, and visa fees. It takes a village to raise a champion, and today, I am humbly reaching out to our village for help.
