Triathlon is a great sport that helps to develop amazing communities of healthy minded people. It brings people together in a positive way as they share the experience of achieving their sporting goals.

Triathlon has a very wealthy and affluent clientele that I think many sponsors would be wise to get in front of. A 2015 survey conducted for the World Triathlon Corporation — the Tampa, Fla.-based organizers of Kona and other Ironman and Ironman 70.3 races — found that the average annual household income for Ironman participants is $247,000.

Even in these tough times triathletes are standing together and supporting each other. We may not be able to gather in large groups right now to celibate our sport but we still all getting together virtually and sharing our passion. Triathlon has been growing in visibility as more people become aware of and interested in the sport. Expect to see triathlon become even more visible. The professionals have now come together under the PTO (Professional Triathlon Organization) to help move the sport forward and create more TV opportunists. I was part of the inaugural PTO Championship that happened in Dec this year and had over 500,000 people watch the race live. Triathlon is on the course to become the new golf and tennis.

Early in 2021 I races at the inaugural Challenge Miami race that again had live TV coverage and NBC coverage. With the collaboration of NASCAR triathlon is on the edge of a huge jump forward, that you could be get in on the ground floor. Challenge North America has signed a two year deal with NBC to cover all of their events.

Alongside my triathlon career, I am also a spokesperson for dyslexia. I feel that my involvement in sport has helped me to develop the skills I needed to get through school and overcome my obstacles. I have decided to share my story with the world and help raise awareness about dyslexia.

On top of me positively representing dyslexia, I am very active in the triathlon community. I have been part of the C3 triathlon club for over 15 years and now that I am a seasoned professional I like to give back to the junior athletes and age group athletes. I hope this will help to keep developing top Canadian talent. I share my knowledge and help them develop into better athletes. Every year I volunteer at the local Kids of Steel race to make sure I give back to the younger generation.

This year is a tough time for everyone including professional triathletes with no racing opportunities. So my friend and I decided that we would create our own Pro National Championships race to give the community something to look forward to and give our fellow athletes a high level race. It was a huge success, bringing many of the top Canadian athletes together and gathering a prize purse, our own private TV crew and CBC coverage.

If a sponsorship would interest you I would be happy to have you on board and see what we can build together.
