Description
The Sun Trip is an event where up to 50 teams start a cycling race from France to China. The race takes place in summer with a duration between 40 and 70 days, depending on conditions, performance and so on.
This event is a great opportunity for every company which tries to be more sustainable / innovative and or is involed in renewable energy topics. All participants are limited to solar power to charge the battery and power the bike.
We are a group of electrical, mechanical and software engineers who are building a bike with the best hardware available to win this race. All components will be overengineered to make sure the bike performance best in every situation. Thats one of the reasons why we can not start in 2021, because development and producing all the parts out of carbon fibre takes a lot of time.
Sponsorship Usage
Your sponsoring will be spend to cover the participation fee, food and supplies during the trip, travel and transportation costs and to pay for the solar panels, which will be custom designed and therefore be very expensive.
Key figures for sponsors
Over the race there are serveral check points where lots of visitors are following the event. Also the media (print + TV) will be present at each checkpoint. There will be interviews at the start and the end of the race. Most participants will upload videos to Youtube sharing the highlights of their trip. We will document the build, tests and the acutal race in great detail on Youtube with a new channel, dedicated to the Sun Trip event. We expect this channel to cover some of the cost it takes to build such a bike.
