Belgian National Wushu Team/ motivated/ national and international titles/ University of Antwerp/ 23

I am a Belgian wushu athlete who loves this one-of-a-kind sport with a passion. Let me introduce you to the world of wushu.

 “Wushu” is the Chinese term for martial arts. It is more commonly known as Chinese Kungfu, just think of Jet li & Jackie Chan in the film industry. I specialize in taolu (forms), in which I perform a choreographed form which involves martial art patterns, acrobatic movements and techniques.

I started on this path from the young age of 12 and my skills, experiences and dedication for this sport have only grown since then. I train hard and grab all opportunities, from attending summer programs at the Shanghai University of Sport, giving commercial demo’s, coaching my own students, to participating in a wide range of competitions. Presently I can proudly say that I am a member of the Belgian National Wushu team with experience in international competitions. My next goal would be to get into the top 3 at the European Championships and top 20 at the next World Championships in Dallas Texas.

I am currently combining my aspirations in competitive wushu with my studies at the University of Brussels, where I am studying physical education and the science of movement. As a student, funding my gear and competitions can prove to be challenging. For this reason, I would like to ask for your support to help accomplish my next goals. All international competitions are being broadcasted online to receive more media attention for our sport. The audience size of each competition varies, but on average each competition has over a few hundred visitors.

Recently we decided to take Instagram to the next level and we are building up our followers to extend our reach as much as possible.
