Corporate social responsibility (CSR)

Corporate Social Responsibility (also referred to as CSR) is defined as the social responsibility held by a company and all the activites by such company to show their responsibility in the field. A good CSR-strategy should run through every part of an organization. Some people are arguing, that responsible companies should pay their suppliers a fair wage or make sure that their products are being produced under fair working conditions. Likewise, managers in those companies have a responsibility for their own employees as well.

From a CSR viewpoint, sport-sponsorships are an ideal form of advertising. In traditional advertising, money is usually just flowing from one business to the other. But a sport-sponsorship has a big social impact as well. The advertising company is not only buying an advertising value, but is supporting sports in general as well.
